Per Variety, the Pacific Rim show is now officially in development at Prime Video following a deal that was made between Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Plot details for the show remain under wraps at this time, apart from it being a prequel to the films. No casting has yet been announced. Heisserer will serve as a writer and executive producer for the show under the Chronology banner. Variety also reports that “there is still the potential for new films in the [Pacific Rim] franchise as well.” Nothing has been officially announced at this time, meaning it’s unclear if any of the cast from the first two movies could return.
